Job Summary
Responsible for assisting in the accurate machining of workpieces to meet design specifications. This includes operating various conventional machines and applying basic machining processes under close supervision while ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Machining Operations Performs any of the following machining processes under minimal supervision, ensuring dimensional compliance with drawings: Setting-up Facing Drilling Boring Side milling Counter boring Chamfering Grinding Turning Measuring Blueprint Interpretation Interprets engineering drawings and control documents without supervision.
Prepares and plans for machining operations based on specifications. Measurement and Accuracy Applies proper measuring techniques using standard tools and gages. Performs basic arithmetic functions to support dimensional accuracy. Equipment Use and Maintenance Operates, sets up, and adjusts machines including milling, lathe, grinding, drilling, and face milling machines.
Participates in the preventive maintenance of assigned machines. Safety Compliance Adheres to safety manuals, protocols, and regulatory requirements. Communication and Coordination Coordinates with Tool Shop Foreman or Team Leader for alterations, clarifications, and additional instructions.
