****POSITION SUMMARY:  **** As a Learning Designer at FedEx Office, this position is a part of a passionate team of Learning & Development professionals that create effective and engaging learning content, materials, and tools. The Learning Designer is focused on creating value to the organization and designing effective content to impact the onboarding, performance and learning experiences of each and every team member.  Through strong business partner consultation, this position brings creativity, cutting edge technical know-how and passion for adult learning to create best in class learning tools.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (This is a representative list of the general duties the position may be asked to perform, and is not intended to be all-inclusive)

  • Partner and collaborate with work teams to advise on solutions based upon learning design methodology
  • Identify time to completion and instructional design project plan based upon agreed upon training and development solutions
  • Establish and update instructional design tasks and timelines in partnership with business partners and work groups
  • Keep business partners and work groups informed of instructional design progress and needs
  • Develop strong business relationships through partner consultation to analyze needs/root causes, conduct research, and create instructional materials as well as visual, auditory, and interactive learning tools based on defined needs.
  • Strong ability to accurately forecast, design, maintain detailed project plans and precisely execute against those plans.
  • Maintain a strong foundation of communication with work teams on project timelines, progress, design needs, constraints, and solutions.
  • Design and create content scripts based on SME input, review and modify as appropriate.
  • Create instructional materials as well as visual, auditory, and interactive learning tools based on training need
  • Design modes of assessments, such as quizzes or tests, to measure techniques the effectiveness of the learning solutions
  • Review content with subject matter experts and make any necessary adjustments
  • Engage in continuous learning about industry best practices, cutting-edge trends and approaches and integrate these approaches into learning solutions.  This includes researching and benchmarking against other organizations. 
  • Maintain all project documentation and course folders.
  • Assess and redesign content as necessary
  • All other duties as needed or required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years working with instructional systems design principles and practices including adult learning theories, interactive training & learning design, learning design principles for both synchronous and asynchronous strategies, needs analysis, performance analysis, development and evaluation
  • 2+ years training/facilitation experience preferred
  • Prior experience with virtual learning environments, learning technology infrastructure and eLearning industry standards
  • Prior experience consulting with others and ability to work in a collaborative environment with varied audiences (including corporate executives and subject matter experts)
  • Prior experience working with graphic design, videography, and/or website development
  • For new hires, must meet all FedEx Office employment qualifications in force at time of hiring

  • Ability, on a consistent basis, to report regularly to work and maintain established business hours in order to support the FedEx Office business; regular attendance and/or reporting could include regular attendance at a physical location and/or maintaining established business hours depending on the scope and nature of the position
