Overview

TheJobsMap ("we", "us") operates the website thejobsmap.com, the TheJobsMap mobile apps for iOS and Android, and the TheJobsMap integrations inside AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Meta Muse. TheJobsMap is a map-based explorer of companies and their publicly listed job openings. This policy describes what information we handle and how.

What we collect

The mobile apps do not require an account and do not collect personal information. They do not access your location, camera, microphone, contacts, or files. Searches and map interactions are sent to our servers only to return results; they are not linked to your identity.

Like most services, our servers and infrastructure providers (such as our hosting and content delivery network) process standard request data (IP address, user agent, requested URLs) in server logs for security, abuse prevention, and reliability. These logs are not used to build user profiles.

On the website, optional features such as signing in or purchasing a subscription involve the personal information you provide for those features (email address, and payment handled by our payment processor). We do not sell personal information.

AI assistant integrations

When you use TheJobsMap inside an AI assistant (for example ChatGPT or Meta Muse), the assistant calls our server with the search details it extracted from your request, such as a job title, location, company name, skills or a pay range. We use those details only to return matching listings. We do not receive your name, email address, chat history or account details from the assistant, and the integration does not use sign-in.

The request IP address is used briefly in memory for rate limiting and appears in standard server logs as described above. We do not store your searches, build a profile, or share them with anyone. Links we return include a tag naming the assistant (for example utm_source=chatgpt) so we can count visits that came from it. The AI assistant itself is run by its provider, whose privacy policy covers your conversation.

Third-party services

Map tiles are served by CARTO. Company logos may be loaded from third-party image services. When you tap Apply on a job, you are taken to the hiring company's own site or applicant tracking system, which has its own privacy policy. We do not receive or store anything you submit there.

Data about companies and jobs

Job listings and company information shown in TheJobsMap are aggregated from publicly available sources, primarily the hiring companies' own careers pages. If you represent a company and want a listing corrected or removed, contact us.

Children

TheJobsMap is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new effective date.
