The Opportunity
The Accounting Associate will play a key role in supporting the firm’s financial operations. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, this role handles daily accounting operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, and assists with monthly close procedures and financial reporting. The role will support the continued growth of the finance function through the completion of timely and accurate work with a focus on supporting control enhancements and a continuous improvement mindset.
What You'll Do
You will be an integral part of our growing Finance team, helping scale our processes for a fast-moving, fast-growing firm.
Specifically, you will:
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, record and reconcile daily bank activity, and prepare journal entries for firm activities.
- Assist the Accounting Manager with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including reporting and analysis.
- Assist in preparing workpapers and gathering supporting documentation for annual financial statement audits/reviews, tax filings, and regulatory compliance reviews.
- Process vendor invoices, monitor approval workflows, propose and generate payment runs, and maintain vendor records and 1099 filings.
- Generate customer invoices, track outstanding balances, process incoming receipts, and support collection efforts.
- Collaborate to optimize financial systems, internal controls, and operational workflows.
- Research and prepare ad hoc financial analyses as requested.
What You Bring
- You’ve got 3+ years of corporate accounting experience, preferably with general ledger management and public accounting experience.
- You hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- You’re hands-on with ERP systems—preferably NetSuite—with experience supporting system process improvements.
- You have advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- You’re proactive and communicative with a continuous improvement mindset.
