Job description
This role sits within a small, high-impact software development team focused on building and scaling a proprietary product. Beyond hands-on development, the position plays a key role in leading projects end to end, balancing technical execution with planning, coordination, and stakeholder collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain core software components for a commercial product. Lead software-related projects, including requirements definition, scheduling, progress tracking, and code reviews. Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to align technical delivery with product and business needs. Contribute to architectural decisions while remaining hands-on with coding.
Drive continuous improvement in development processes, quality, and delivery.
Requirements
Several years of professional software development experience using general-purpose programming languages. Experience leading projects or acting as a technical lead or project manager within a development team. Ability to translate requirements into realistic plans and see projects through release and operation. Strong communication skills and comfort working in both Japanese and English environments.
Balance of user-focused thinking and engineering judgment.
