The Opportunity
We are looking for a proactive, hands-on** ** Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team as Nitricity transitions into commercial manufacturing.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of core accounting functions, work closely with the VP of Finance, and help build scalable financial processes as the company grows.
While your primary focus will be accounting operations, financial reporting, and the monthly close, you'll also gain exposure to FP&A, treasury, manufacturing finance, and capital projects.
We're looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, takes initiative, and wants to grow beyond a traditional accounting role.
What You'll Do
Own the monthly close: Manage key areas of the close process, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Support accounting operations: Handle AP, AR, cash transactions, and general ledger activities, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
Build manufacturing accounting capabilities: Partner with Operations and Engineering on cost accounting, inventory, capital expenditures, and project spending as we scale commercial production.
Support financial planning and analysis: Prepare budget-to-actual reports, investigate variances, and assist with budgeting, cash forecasting, and capital-project analysis.
Support audit and compliance: Prepare audit and tax schedules, maintain supporting documentation, and ensure compliance with accounting policies.
Improve and scale processes: Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, strengthen internal controls, and build efficient accounting processes as the company grows.
Collaborate across the business: Work with finance leadership and cross-functional teams on accounting, finance, and other business initiatives.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in public accounting, corporate accounting, or a combination of both.
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting or ERP systems.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
Proactive, resourceful problem-solver who takes ownership, asks questions, and follows through.
Comfortable working independently, adapting to changing priorities, and rolling up your sleeves to get things done.
Preferred Qualifications
CPA license or progress toward CPA licensure.
Experience with cost accounting, inventory, or manufacturing operations.
Experience improving accounting processes or implementing new systems.

Compensation & Benefits
The annual base salary range for this position is** ** $95,000–$120,000, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications, in accordance with California's pay transparency requirements.
This position is also eligible for Nitricity's standard benefits package.
