Summary The Associate Facilities Engineer supports maintenance, production, EHS, and Quality Control through individual and collaborative engineering and project-management activities.
Working within the Facilities, Maintenance, and Engineering group, this role helps improve the performance and reliability of facilities, equipment, systems, and documentation across the New Jersey and New York sites. The position requires a self-starter who can manage multiple priorities, improve facility and equipment reliability, complete projects safely, on time, and within budget, and build effective relationships at all levels of the organization.
Essential Duties
& Responsibilities Project Management Support the planning and execution of large-scale engineering projects. Manage small projects from design and planning through installation, commissioning, and closeout. Prepare project cost estimates covering design, equipment, materials, labor, and related expenses. Interpret technical drawings and specifications and assist with submittals, requests for information (RFIs), and change orders.
Maintenance and Reliability Engineering Coordinate contractors and verify that work meets project requirements, site procedures, safety standards, and schedules. Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues and recommend effective corrective actions. Evaluate and recommend production equipment, process equipment, and fixtures based on engineering requirements and operational needs.
Conduct root-cause and failure analyses and recommend actions to prevent recurrence. Maintain accurate and timely CMMS records in accordance with applicable SOPs and documentation standards. Maintain organized internal and external service records and supporting documentation. Contribute to the development and ongoing management of five-year facility plans.
Maintain a safe, clean work environment by complying with all applicable procedures, rules, and regulations. Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to troubleshoot and resolve urgent facility issues. Sustainability Develop and implement sustainability initiatives that reduce water use, waste generation, and energy consumption.
Facilities Engineering Support the reliable operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, lift safety, roofing, and related infrastructure. Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and business needs. Commitment to Robertet and SQF Safety and Quality Standards and continuous improvement of the quality management systems.

Ability to change gears and be agile with plans Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field Fluency in English (written and verbal) Some related work experience Preferred: Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering preferred Manufacturing experience Food and Beverage Experience Experience working in GMP, food-grade, and NEC-classified areas (C1D1&2) Experience with building systems: compressed air, dust collection/vacuum, HVAC systems, water systems, boilers, refrigeration, environmentally controlled storage rooms, chemical storage tanks, mixers, pumps, process sensors (temperature, level, flow, pH, etc.) and other facility infrastructure systems (i.e., building management systems). Work Environment Workload Breakdown: 30% reliability/10% field work/60% projects On-site schedule required. All internal and exterior areas of the buildings. Limited work in refrigerated areas down to -10 degrees F. Limited Work in heated areas up to 125 degrees F Moderate to extensive time required in warehouse and manufacturing environments with exposure to noise, dust, and odors. Lifting up to 50lbs Physical Demands Position typically involves moderate to extensive physical activity, including standing, bending, and walking during various times of the day.
