- Essential Responsibilities: Prepare high-quality meals for residents, guests, and staff in accordance with daily menus and standardized recipes. Prepare food in a timely manner to ensure meals are ready according to the community's dining schedule. Work the food line during mealtimes and ensure meals are plated and presented in an attractive, appetizing manner. Prepare and serve appropriate condiments, garnishes, and accompaniments with meals. Follow established portioning, food preparation, and presentation standards. Monitor and maintain proper food temperatures throughout preparation and service. Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen, food preparation area, and serving line. Follow established sanitation procedures and cleaning schedules. Keep stock rooms, refrigerators, coolers, and freezers clean and organized. Properly label, date, store, and rotate food products to maintain freshness and food safety. Help maintain appropriate food inventory and communicate supply needs to Dining Services leadership. Minimize food waste through proper preparation, storage, portioning, and food-handling practices. Follow all applicable food safety, sanitation, and infection-control procedures. Attend required training, in-service programs, and staff meetings. Maintain a safe working environment through proper use and care of kitchen equipment and safe working practices. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor when interacting with residents, visitors, and co-workers. - Requirements: High School Diploma or General Education Degree. Experience working in a kitchen. Experience working in senior living a plus. Must obtain and maintain any local, state, and/or county-required food handling or sanitation licenses and certifications. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining food quality and safety standards. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform the physical duties associated with commercial food preparation.
