Responsibilities include
maintaining accurate production records, reviewing performance data, investigating operational problems, and preparing required daily or weekly reports regarding production results, downtime, quality concerns, staffing, and corrective actions.

Ensure production lines meet established hourly and daily UPH, efficiency, output, and production-plan targets. Continuously compare actual production performance against established targets. Identify the causes of missed UPH or production targets and implement timely corrective actions.
Ensure production lines start on time and remain adequately staffed throughout the shift. Assign and reposition employees as necessary to balance production lines and maintain required output. Monitor cycle times, bottlenecks, work-in-process, material flow, and employee performance. Ensure Team Leaders understand and actively manage the UPH and quality expectations for their assigned lines.
Escalate equipment, material, quality, or staffing issues promptly when production targets are at risk. Ensure production schedules and customer requirements are completed accurately and on time. Communicate daily production expectations and priorities to Team Leaders and Assembly Operators. Quality Management Ensure products meet all company and customer quality standards and specifications.
Monitor defects, scrap, repairs, and rework throughout the shift. Maintain a strong focus on producing conforming products while minimizing defective products, scrap, and rework. Take immediate corrective action when quality performance falls below established targets. Stop or contain production when necessary to prevent defective or nonconforming products from continuing through the process.
Ensure Team Leaders and Assembly Operators follow standardized work instructions, inspection requirements, control plans, and quality procedures. Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and other supporting departments to investigate defects, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Reinforce employee accountability for quality at every stage of production.
Monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions and follow up on recurring quality concerns. Downtime and Operational Efficiency Minimize production downtime by identifying issues early and coordinating a timely response. Track equipment failures, material shortages, changeovers, staffing problems, quality holds, and other causes of lost production time.
Coordinate with Maintenance, Engineering, Materials, Quality, and Production Control to restore normal production promptly. Ensure equipment, tools, workstations, materials, and employees are prepared before production begins. Review recurring downtime and support preventive and corrective measures to improve line reliability.
Monitor production interruptions and ensure the cause, duration, impact, and corrective action are properly documented. Promote waste reduction, efficient material usage, improved labor utilization, and continuous improvement. Escalate unresolved or significant downtime concerns to the Head of Department and other appropriate management personnel.
Team Leadership and Accountability Directly supervise, lead, and evaluate assigned Team Leaders and Assembly Operators. Establish clear daily expectations for UPH, quality, safety, attendance, and production performance. Ensure Team Leaders properly direct employees, monitor line conditions, and promptly report production concerns.
Monitor the performance of Team Leaders and Assembly Operators and provide coaching, training, and corrective feedback. Assign employees and adjust manpower as necessary to balance production lines and maintain required output. Hold employees accountable for productivity, quality, safety, attendance, standardized work, and workplace conduct.
Ensure employees receive the training and direction necessary to perform their assigned work safely, correctly, and efficiently. Address performance, attendance, behavioral, and workplace concerns promptly and consistently. Coordinate with Human Resources regarding employee relations, attendance, performance, and disciplinary matters.
Conduct or assist with employee performance evaluations and recommend recognition, development, training, or corrective action when appropriate. Promote clear communication, teamwork, accountability, and employee engagement throughout assigned areas. Maintain a professional, respectful, and results-focused work environment.
Safety and Compliance Enforce company safety rules, PPE requirements, work instructions, and operating procedures. Conduct routine inspections of production areas and promptly address unsafe conditions or behaviors. Ensure employees are properly trained and authorized before operating equipment or performing assigned tasks.
Report and assist with the investigation of incidents, near misses, injuries, and safety concerns according to company procedures. Maintain clean, organized, and safe production areas in accordance with company workplace-organization standards. Ensure Team Leaders and Assembly Operators comply with safety expectations at all times.
Support corrective actions resulting from safety inspections, audits, or incident investigations. Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable federal, state, and local requirements. Continuous Improvement Analyze production results and recommend improvements to increase UPH, reduce defects, minimize downtime, and improve labor efficiency.
Participate in Lean Manufacturing, 3R5S, root-cause analysis, and other continuous-improvement activities. Support production trials, process changes, new-product launches, and standardized-work improvements. Identify recurring production, quality, staffing, or equipment problems and recommend sustainable corrective actions.
