Role Overview: Orbit International Survey Services LLC is seeking an experienced E&I Commissioning Engineer to lead and coordinate the pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup, and handover of electrical and instrumentation systems for offshore and petrochemical projects.
The successful candidate will ensure all commissioning activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and execute Electrical and Instrumentation pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup, and system handover activities. Review engineering documents, P&IDs, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, cause & effect charts, and commissioning procedures. Supervise loop checking, calibration, functional testing, and troubleshooting of field instruments and control systems.
Coordinate testing and commissioning of switchgears, transformers, MCCs, motors, UPS systems, lighting, and power distribution systems. Perform commissioning of PLC, DCS, ESD, Fire & Gas, and SCADA systems. Coordinate with Construction, QA/QC, Operations, Vendors, and Client representatives to ensure smooth project execution.
Prepare commissioning procedures, method statements, test packs, punch lists, and commissioning reports. Monitor system completion activities and ensure timely closure of punch items, ITRs, and turnover dossiers. Lead troubleshooting activities and provide technical solutions during commissioning and startup. Ensure all commissioning activities comply with project specifications, company procedures, HSE requirements, and international standards.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering, or equivalent. Minimum 5 years of experience in Electrical & Instrumentation commissioning within Offshore, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Industrial projects. Strong knowledge of PLC, DCS, ESD, SCADA, Fire & Gas systems, field instrumentation, and electrical distribution systems.
Experience in loop checking, calibration, functional testing, startup, and system handover. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, loop diagrams, and commissioning documentation. Strong communication, coordination, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
