Job description
Cardiovascular Physicians of Delaware Position: Medical Records Specialist Location: in office in Newark, DE Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm Job Summary Prepare patient charts for upcoming appointments in a timely and accurate manner.
Duties and Responsibilities
-Prepare patient charts for upcoming appointments, making sure all tests, etc. have been uploaded into patient charts. -Obtain referrals if necessary. -Provide records to outside requests following proper protocol. -Work independently and set priorities. -Maintain strict patient confidentiality. -Be proficient in Release of Health Information.
-Review medical record requests / authorizations for compliancy.
Qualifications
and Educational Requirements -High School Diploma or equivalent Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities -Knowledge of EHR. -Excellent verbal and written communication skills. -Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. -Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. -Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
-Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. -Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. -Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. -Cardiac knowledge and Allscripts experience preferred but not required. Physical Requirements -Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Finger dexterity to perform duties such as typing or writing. -Ability to speak and hear.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
