Overview
of the Role and the Company A global provider of innovative software solutions for the logistics and supply chain industry is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead its expansion into the Japanese market. This high-impact role will be responsible for developing and executing a go-to-market strategy, building relationships with key industry players, and driving enterprise software sales.
The position is based in Japan and serves as the company’s primary representative in the region.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy for Japan. Identify, qualify, and secure new enterprise clients, including logistics providers, freight forwarders, manufacturers, and e-commerce companies. Build and maintain long-term relationships with C-level executives and key industry stakeholders.
Manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting to negotiation, contract signing, and handover to the implementation team. Serve as the local expert on the Japanese logistics software market, providing insights on competition, customer needs, and regulatory developments. Collaborate with global marketing, product, and technical teams to align strategy and represent customer needs from Japan. 3. Educational Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field; MBA is a plus. 4. Experience Required Minimum 8 years of experience in business development or sales within the B2B software/SaaS industry. Proven track record and strong network in the Japanese logistics, supply chain, or transportation industry (highly preferred). Demonstrated experience in building a territory from scratch or significantly increasing market share. Experience with software sales cycles and value-based selling methodologies. 5. Key Skills and Competencies Strategic sales and business development skills Strong relationship-building and negotiation abilities Deep understanding of B2B SaaS and enterprise sales cycles Market insight into the Japanese logistics and supply chain sector Ability to work independently and represent the company in a new market 6.
