A global, tier-1 enterprise platform provider is seeking an exceptional Technical Architect / Lead Engineer to join their high-performing Professional Services division in Tokyo.

In this role, you will work alongside a small team of elite consultants, business analysts, and functional experts to guide major industry clients and top-tier System Integrators (SIs) through highly complex, long-term ecosystem implementations lasting anywhere from 3 months to 2 years. Architect Scalable Ecosystems: Design and develop secure system integrations linking our high-scale cloud-native platform with complex internal and external legacy environments using specialized enterprise frameworks.

Manage Enterprise Data Flow: Oversee data pipeline integrity and real-time data flows between core applications and external downstream systems to ensure zero data loss. Drive Innovation via Po. Cs: Execute agile Proof of Concept (PoC) initiatives to validate integration approaches, assess structural feasibility, and demonstrate technical capability to client teams.

Act as a Strategic Feedback Bridge: Serve as a key representative to the client while collaborating with global internal engineering and product management teams to share regional product feedback continuously, strengths, and upgrade strategies.

Requirements

Native/Fluent Japanese (JLPT N1 level or equivalent) with a deep grasp of Japanese business practices, paired with professional English skills (TOEIC 700+ or equivalent) for internal global engineering alignment. Proven Track Record: 7+ years of combined experience spanning hands-on software development and professional IT consulting (with a minimum of 3 years dedicated to each domain).

End-to-End Delivery Leadership: Demonstrated success acting as a technical lead for large-scale enterprise deployments, managing the complete lifecycle from requirements gathering and architecture design to code reviews, testing, and production release. Technical Architecture Depth: 2+ years of hands-on object-oriented programming (e.

g., Java, C#), 2+ years of experience with relational databases, and solid exposure to major cloud platforms (AWS or GCP). Post-Go-Live Support: Prior experience acting as the primary technical point of contact for clients navigating version upgrades, optimization reviews, and new feature adoptions. Preferred/Nice-to-Have Skills Professional domain knowledge within specialized financial services or the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance landscape (policy management, claims processing, etc.)

Familiarity with modern integration methods (REST, JSON-RPC, SOAP, MQ) and microservices architecture. Experience with CI/CD delivery pipelines (Git, Team. City) and observability suites (Datadog).

Benefits

A work environment that encourages individual initiative, experimentation, and continuous improvement. Impact: The opportunity to solve real-world insurance problems at scale for some of the largest financial institutions in the world. Autonomy: A low-bureaucracy structure that minimizes hierarchy and empowers great people to do great work.

Collaboration: Work alongside a team of elite engineers, business analysts, and global product managers in a financially strong and growing organization. Inclusivity: Join an equal-opportunity workplace that values diversity of perspective, culture, and experience as a core pillar of success. Competitive compensation: The compensation of this position is based on your years of experience, market standard and interview performance.
