About a church in the World

One of the challenges we have seen in the church is that evangelism receives much more attention and focus than discipleship. Though evangelism is not easy, discipleship takes more extended time and much more personal interaction. Making a disciple is like coaching an athlete on a team or raising a child. It is difficult. It is messy and the coach / parent will not be liked on a number of occasions by the player / child because what is being taught is not comfortable. However our job at a church in the World is not to be liked, but to train and coach up our players so they can go out into the world to clearly, logically, and lovingly communicate the Christian worldview to people who desperately need to hear the message. "equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ" -- Hebrews 13:21
