Every person embarking on the journey to parenthood deserves to be empowered: to know that they have the strength and power to bring life into this world or into their family; to have access to education in order to advocate for themselves and make informed choices about pregnancy, labor and birth; to feel supported, encouraged, and unafraid as they approach the birth / homecoming of their child, and to have the support needed to feed their child after birth and beyond. When parents are equipped with the most up to date evidence-based information on pregnancy, safe birth practices, newborn care, postpartum care, and breast/chestfeeding, they are able to advocate for themselves and their babies every step of the way.
