About ACS CAN - Society of Emerging Leaders

The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan advocacy affiliate of the American Cancer Society. ACS CAN works to make sure our lawmakers and leaders take real steps toward finishing the fight against cancer. The Society of Emerging Leaders is a collective of 250+ students and young professional leaders who champion cancer advocacy projects and campaigns based in California. They work to pursue ACS CAN’s mission of saving lives from cancer. The team is then led by the California Emerging Leaders Council, who host opportunities to educate voters, engage in rallies and press events. They utilize their diverse set of personal cancer or caregiver experiences to shape the cancer journey for others and foster relationships with policymakers to enact positive change.
