About Action for Rural Women's Empowerment (ARUWE)

Action for Rural Women's Empowerment (ARUWE) is a gender focused non-for-profit organisation which aims to bridge the gender gaps and eliminate the negative practices/stereotypes which inhibit women and girls from participating in civic, social and economic development. ARUWE strengthens women's leadership so that collectively they can break the chains of poverty, patriarchy, class, gender and sexual repression. We do this through advocating for women's economic justice, sexual reproductive health and rights, promoting education and lifelong learning, climate change and challenging the negative impact of rigid and oppressive gender stereotypes.
