About Aeroporto Internazionale dell'Umbria - Perugia "San Francesco d'Assisi"

Located mid-way between the regional capital of Perugia (15 Km) and the world renown medieval town of Assisi (12 Km), the Umbria – Perugia International Airport “San Francesco d’Assisi” represents the ideal gateway to the “Green Heart of Italy” and its main international access route. The airport is seamlessly linked to Central Italy’s main highways, comfortably connecting it with Tuscany, Lazio and Marche. The recent years’ growth in passenger traffic and its strategic position have prompted the recently completed development program, which resulted in a new 5,000 sqm modern terminal, designed to accommodate 500,000 pax / year. SASE SpA, the airport operator, was incorporated in 1977 thanks to the initiative of local authorities (firstly the Province of Perugia and City of Perugia) and some Umbrian organizations, such as the Chamber of Commerce and the local Industrialist Union. The initiative received the support of regional banks, hotel chains and even la Perugina (today’s Nestlè). SASE is at the same time responsible for the management and sole handler of the international airport of Perugia - Umbria “San Francesco d’Assisi” and in particular takes care of: aircraft assistance, passanger assistance, management.
