About AfCLAD | Labour News

The African Centre for Labour, Activism and Development (AfCLAD) is a pioneering think tank and advocacy platform committed to strengthening the labour movement, advancing social justice, and centering workers in Africa’s development agenda. Rooted in a pan-African vision, we work at the intersection of labour rights, grassroots organizing, policy research, and inclusive development. From rural farm estates to urban gig economies, AfCLAD brings visibility to under-reported worker struggles and fosters solidarity across borders. Our work spans: ✅Rigorous, worker-centered research. ✅Strategic policy engagement with governments and unions. ✅Storytelling and media advocacy that amplifies workers' voices. ✅Institutional capacity building for labour organisations. ✅Mobilization campaigns that demand economic and social equity. Whether it’s pushing back against precarious work, promoting decent wages, or ensuring just transitions in climate and digital economies, AfCLAD empowers stakeholders, both unionists and researchers to drive systemic change. We envision a future where dignity at work, collective power, and development justice are not aspirations, but guarantees. Follow us to stay updated on bold reporting, regional insights, and opportunities to shape Africa’s labour future. https://afclad.org #LabourJustice #WorkersRights #AfricaRising #DevelopmentWithDignity #TradeUnions #SocialJustice #PolicyResearch #AfCLAD
