About Affinyx

Sperm selection in IVF is a crucial step that current methods don’t adequately address: 🧬 Even in fertile men, around 20-30% sperm have some degree of DNA damage 📉 In IVF, this means fewer embryos, reduced chance of implantation, and higher risk of miscarriage 🏊♂️ Current methods pick the strongest swimming sperm or most motile sperm, but only removes some DNA damaged sperm 👀 Many sperm have hidden DNA damage but appear entirely normal ➡️➡️ Our unique sperm capture approach reduces DNA damaged sperm to less than 1% ⬅️⬅️ 🔬 Microfluidics with advanced surface chemistry Microscopic channels ensure that only motile sperm are selected. Our innovative surface chemistry enables the molecular features of the channels to mimic the female immune system 🧬 Antibody coating captures DNA-damaged sperm The female immune system plays an important role in sperm selection. Our technology binds an antibody to the surface of the channels to identify and capture DNA damaged sperm 🏋️ Preparing sperm for fertilisation Molecular messengers in the female reproductive tract stimulate sperm and prepare them for fertilisation, we are able to recreate these conditions to give sperm the best chance of successful conception
