About AirSentinel
Small unmanned aircraft are rapidly changing the security landscape for critical infrastructure. Airports, utilities, ports, and public venues were largely designed before commercial drones became widely available. Today, drones operating near sensitive facilities can create significant safety, security, and public safety risks. Recent incidents in the United States — including drone sightings that have temporarily halted airport operations and near-miss encounters between drones and commercial aircraft — highlight the growing need for improved airspace awareness around critical infrastructure. Unauthorized or malicious drone activity presents additional risks, including surveillance of sensitive facilities, corporate espionage, threats to public safety, and the potential use of drones for terrorist purposes. These threats may also extend to the surveillance or targeting of high-net-worth individuals, private estates, and other sensitive locations. AirSentinel focuses on drone detection and airspace monitoring solutions designed to help infrastructure operators maintain awareness of drone activity around sensitive facilities. Our work supports organizations responsible for protecting critical infrastructure, including: • Airports and aviation infrastructure • Energy and utilities • Ports and maritime facilities • Law enforcement and public safety agencies • Corporate and industrial security teams • Private estates and high-net-worth individuals We follow developments in counter-UAS technologies, aviation security, and infrastructure protection and share insights on emerging drone threats and mitigation strategies.
