About AJJ Scholarship Fund Inc.

The AJJ Scholarship Fund was established to honor Arthur Jones who tragically lost his life in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. A 1982 alumnus of Hampton Bays High School, Art attended Hamilton College with a basketball scholarship, graduating in 1986. He went on to work at Carr Futures in the World Trade Center. The Fund was created to keep his memory alive in the hearts and minds of all who knew him by providing outstanding young men and women with college scholarships. Art was first and foremost a family man. He took great pride in being the best husband and father he could be, in addition to devoting himself as a son, brother, in-law, uncle, and friend. Art had an effortless way of lighting up a room and making friends wherever he went, and his friendships meant the world to him. Many of his friends from high school, college, and work became connected, and his tight-knit circle was always growing. Art possessed an incredible love of life, and lived each day with passion and tremendous enthusiasm. When he wasn't working at the trading desk at Carr Futures, or spending precious time with his wife and children, he loved going to concerts, Broadway shows and movies, watching NASCAR, cooking, reading, golfing, enjoying a good cigar or glass of wine, and going to sporting events. College basketball was his favorite, and he was crazy about March Madness. The AJJ Scholarship Fund exists to raise resources for what is now the single largest benefactor to graduating seniors at Hampton Bays High School. Both the annual cocktail party and golf outing fundraisers are beautiful testaments of Art's life and his ability to bring people from all walks of life together. It is through the success of these events that we are able to honor his legacy of love, service, and athleticism each year and carry it forward to future generations of students.
