About AKHRI - Mothers and Daughters Literacy

Welcome to AKHRI - Mothers and Daughters Literacy! We are a non-profit organization committed to bridging the education gap for young mothers and daughters in rural communities in Somaliland. Our mission is to empower women through basic literacy, education, and market-driven job skills training, creating long-lasting, positive, and community-led change. Our vision is to see a world where every girl and woman has the opportunity to learn and feel safe while in school, complete all levels of education with the skills to effectively compete in the labor market and prosper with dignity. We believe that empowered rural communities are capable of driving change when they recognize everyone’s needs, understand their rights, and the socio-economic factors that affect their lives. Through our programs, we aim to provide women with the tools and knowledge they need to navigate the changing world around them, make informed decisions about their own lives, and contribute to their communities' growth and development. Join us in our mission to create a better future for women in rural Somaliland!
