About Alexandria Children's Theatre

Classes at Alexandria Children’s Theatre (ACT) provide a space for children to collaborate and create with others in a supportive environment where there are no wrong answers. Interactive improv games promote teamwork without winning or losing, and many of the games and creative thinking activities used in classes can be enjoyed with family members at home or in the car! Don’t tell the kids, but ACT classes seamlessly integrate mindfulness and spatial awareness using age-appropriate theatre games and creative movement activities. It’s a first step down the path of increased self-awareness and understanding no matter what age a student decides to try acting. Learning to collaborate with others, confidently express themselves, and develop an appreciation for the performing arts is all part of the experience. Classes lead to a presentation in front of an audience, with opportunities for children on the quiet side to ease into performing. Our goal is for increased confidence and solid self-expression skills onstage and beyond!
