About ALGAESYS

ALGAESYS is on a mission to make affordable decarbonised water reuse available for all. ALGAESYS transforms wastewater as a feedstock into lucrative revenue streams for local communities, producing high quality water & extracts valuable materials from biomass. ALGAESYS is a unique high performance photosynthetic organism based system for the full treatment of waste waters into economically valuable water & other resources - with very LOW energy consumption, LOW lifecycle cost, net energy positive & a NEGATIVE Carbon footprint. ALGAESYS is a World Economic Forum Uplink Top Innovator and Aquapreneur & was a winner of the Circular Water Cities Challenge. Massively over-looked, water has a crucial role in abating climate change - by cleaning up the world's rivers and what flows into the oceans, we reverse the depletion of the plankton that are not only at the heart of food chains, but also nature's most potent net absorber of CO2. Consequently, we are on a mission to revolutionise the water sector approach and promote the circular economy by simultaneously delivering previously lost water resources and mitigating aquatic pollution from excess nutrients, persistent organic chemicals, metals & micro-particulates. Employing unique patented technology powered by the sun, exclusively employing photosynthetic organisms, we address the unmet needs of water-stressed communities around the world. ALGAESYS boasts rapid installation times and up to 80% of the lifecycle cost compared with conventional technologies. A game changer providing high performance treatment, eliminating persistent organic chemicals and providing a high level of disinfection. The technology has already been proven at full-scale over 10 years and performance has been further improved. We have deployed systems in Portugal, Australia and now the UK, with regional business partners in the Middle East, Southeast Asia and beyond. We have companies in Portugal, UK and Western Australia.
