About Allgäu Comets

Die Allgäu Comets (bis 1993 Kempten Comets) sind ein American-Football-Team aus Kempten (Allgäu) in Bayern. Die Comets spielten in der Saison 2012 und 2013 in der zweiten deutschen Liga, der GFL 2. Zum Abschluss der Saison 2013 erreichte man den Aufstieg in die German Football League, die GFL. 2011, 2012 und 2013 wurden die Allgäu Comets dreimal in Folge als Mannschaft des Jahres durch die Stadt Kempten ausgezeichnet. Ebenfalls 2012 und 2013 wurden die Allgäu Comets zum Verein des Jahres vom American Football Verband Deutschland ausgezeichnet. Die Allgäu Comets sind in folgende Abteilungen untergliedert: Allgäu Comets (Tackle-Football, GFL) Allgäu Comets II (Tackle-Football, Landesliga) Allgäu Comets U19-Jugend 16–19 J. (Tackle- und Flagfootball, Bayernliga) Allgäu Comets U15-Jugend 13–16 J. (Tackle- und Flagfootball, Jugendleistungsliga) Allgäu Comets Ladies (Damen-Tackle-Football, 2. Bundesliga) Elements (Cheerleading) Der Verein spielt im Illerstadion Kempten, einem Naturrasenplatz mit einer Zuschauerkapazität von 4.500.
