About AMRA J Architects Inc.

AMRA J Architects Inc. (aja.design) is a boutique architectural firm based in Ancaster, Ontario, with a strong presence across the province, particularly in the Golden Horseshoe region. Founded by Amra Janjusevic, our practice is rooted in a deep commitment to understanding and realizing each client’s unique vision. We specialize in a wide range of building types—from complex institutional facilities in education, healthcare, and public service to dynamic commercial, industrial, multi-residential, and mixed-use developments—with particular expertise in the challenges of retrofits and renovations. At AJA, we believe that great architecture begins with function. Every design decision is grounded in purpose, ensuring that the spaces we create are not only beautiful but also efficient, intuitive, and enduring. Our team of passionate professionals brings a collective 49 years of experience to every project. Working from a converted residential studio in the heart of Ancaster, we encourage a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous learning. As a full-service firm, we leverage advanced tools like BIM and Real-Time Visualization to ensure clarity and excellence throughout the design process. We are proud members of the OAA, RAIC, LEED AP, and Sustainable Labs Canada, and we hold WBE (Women Business Enterprise) certification—underscoring our commitment to sustainability, equity, and inclusive procurement. We remain intentionally nimble—working tightly as a small, agile team that thrives on close collaboration. By drawing insight from our clients, partners, and one another, we ensure that every project is shaped by shared expertise and mutual trust. At AJA, we don’t just design buildings—we cultivate lasting relationships and contribute meaningfully to the communities we serve.
