About Amstel Hotel

'The Grand Dutch Residence; Embracing the charm and heritage of the city' The Amstel Hotel is a five-star superior hotel marked by a long tradition of genuine hospitality and discrete luxury. In 2016 and 2017 the hotel is dedicated to celebrate the 150th jubilee of the hotel, as the construction started on April 26th, 1866. The hotel opened its doors 1 year and 1 day later in 1867 and is praised ever since for its royal appearance and homely warmth. The imposing lobby, historical stairs, beautiful chandeliers and high ceilings make it a true Grand Dame Hotel. To this day, this landmark hotel still offers a home-away-from-home for many travellers. When nearing the hotel the view is enchanted with the impressive façade reflected in the shimmering Amstel River. The 79 rooms and suites feature an authentic character with room surfaces that are among the largest of Amsterdam. The modern facilities and the comfortable beds ensure a tranquil stay and the exclusive hand-printed wallpaper creates a unique atmosphere. The hotel is ideally located in the heart of Amsterdam, close to the city center. The Royal Carré theatre and the Hermitage Amsterdam museum are within walking distance of the hotel, and by taxi or saloon boat you will be at the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, the Concertgebouw, the Stedelijk Museum, the Anne Frank House or Amsterdam’s boutique shopping streets within minutes.
