About Angkor City Football Club

The club was founded as Next Step FC in 2013 by Charlie Pomroy & Keo Sophal. Their vision was to provide under privileged children with access to football for free and to create a pathway for the children of Siem Reap to professional football. The club entered The Provincial Cup in 2016, it's first senior mens tournament, and were beaten in the semi finals. In the same year the club saw is first players graduate and sign professional contracts with clubs here in Cambodia. A year later we were crowned provincial champions and would win go on to win the competition three times between 2017-2020. In 2022 the club turned professional and made their debut season in the Cambodian second division. The club gave professional debuts to 23 players, fielded the youngest average age side in the country and became one of the fastest growing clubs in terms of popularity in the country.
