The Portuguese Association of Importers and Exporters of Medicines (APIEM) represents the wholesalers whose main activity is the international distribution of medicines, with the objective of promoting the study of scientific, regulatory, economic, and technical developments in the Healthcare sector. We believe that the distribution of pharmaceutical products between markets improves health indicators through the supply of medicines at lower costs, benefiting health systems, public and private, payers, taxpayers, and above all, patients. APIEM is a member of Affordable Medicines Europe, the association that represents Europe’s licensed parallel distribution industry. ### A Associação Portuguesa de Importadores e Exportadores de Medicamentos (APIEM) congrega as empresas de distribuição internacional de medicamentos, com o objetivo de promover o estudo dos desenvolvimentos científicos, regulatórios, económicos e técnicos sobre o sector da Saúde. Acreditamos que a distribuição de produtos farmacêuticos entre diferentes mercados contribui de forma decisiva para a melhoria dos indicadores de saúde através do aprovisionamento de medicamentos a custos menores, beneficiando sistemas de saúde públicos e privados, pagadores, contribuintes e, acima de tudo, os pacientes. A APIEM é membro da Affordable Medicines Europe, associação que representa o setor da distribuição paralela de medicamentos a nível europeu.
