About Applied Chemistry Students' Association

The Applied Chemistry Students' Association (ACSA) of the University of Kelaniya is a vibrant and dynamic student organization established in 2023 under the Department of Chemistry. Comprised of students pursuing the B.Sc. Honors Degree in Applied Chemistry, ACSA is dedicated to fostering academic excellence, personal growth, and professional development among its members. Our key objectives include: Hosting webinars, workshops, and other initiatives to support members' academic success. Promoting creativity and innovation through projects such as the Notice Board Article Series, QUARKS Magazine, Chemaya and other school outreach programs, and competitions like Transcendencia, the chemistry quiz. Organizing social events and functions to cultivate camaraderie and provide entertainment for members. Equipping undergraduates with the tools and knowledge needed to navigate the job market confidently. Highlighting the vast opportunities offered by the Applied Chemistry Degree program to high school students. Assisting financially challenged members by connecting them with scholarship opportunities. ACSA is committed to empowering its members to achieve their fullest potential, both academically and professionally, while fostering a strong sense of community.
