About Arkansas National Guard Foundation

The Mission of the Arkansas National Guard Foundation is to provide charitable and educational support to members of the Arkansas National Guard, their dependents and survivors, veterans, and to other charitable organizations that support veteran communities in Arkansas. The Arkansas National Guard Foundation was created in 2014 as the successor to the National Guard Association of Arkansas Insurance Trust. The National Guard Association of Arkansas (NGAA) was created in 1927 to advocate for support of the National Guard in Arkansas. In the 1960s, NGAA began providing term life insurance to its members. In 1967 the Trust was created to enable veteran-focused charitable giving from the proceeds of the insurance program. Since its creation, the Foundation and its predecessors have provided over $1.2 million in scholarships to Guard members, their dependents, and their survivors. The creation of the Foundation enabled the consolidation of several existing charitable organizations and programs. Today, the ANGF’s mission continues to have a direct impact on the lives of Guard members, their families, dependents, and survivors in all military branches. There are six specific program areas with sustained project initiatives focused on needs of contemporary Arkansas Guard members that support the ANGF’s mission: 1) Survivor Services Support, 2) Education, Scholarships & Professional Development 3) Medical and Dental Readiness of our Force, 4) Military Family Emergency Relief, 5) Youth Engagement and Recruitment and 6) Legacy Preservation. These six areas, while broad in their scope and impact, all have one purpose in mind—providing support for Guardsmen & women and their families’ well-being. Whether it is a college scholarship for a dependent or emergency relief assistance for those struggling economically, ANGF's mission and aim is to support the needs of Guardsmen, their families, and Survivors.
