About Arts Outburst

Arts Outburst is a bold, community-driven combined arts organisation based in Thurrock, Essex, and an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation. Since our founding in 2003, we’ve worked to ignite creativity, bring people together, and champion the transformative power of the arts. Our work spans festivals, youth engagement, artist development, and creative health, reaching across Thurrock, South Essex, and East London. From large-scale cultural celebrations like Light Up Thurrock and Get Creative Festival, to grassroots youth projects, we create opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to participate, perform, and thrive. We are committed to inclusion, innovation, and meaningful impact—partnering with schools, community groups, local authorities, and national cultural institutions such as the Royal Opera House and National Theatre. Whether it’s a lantern parade lighting up the night, a free Zumba session improving wellbeing, or a young person taking their first steps into the creative industries, we believe every project should leave a lasting legacy. At our heart is a simple mission: to build creative communities together—where everyone has the opportunity to take part, be heard, and feel proud of where they live.
