About Asanita Agricultural Processing Company Limited

Asanita Agricultural Processing Company Limited is developing a large-scale agro-industrial and renewable energy project aimed at advancing Nigeria’s transition to sustainable fuels. Strategically located in Edo State, the company is working to convert locally grown cassava into high-purity bioethanol, supporting energy security while creating environmental and economic value. The project involves the development of a 50,000-liter-per-day bioethanol production facility, representing a $19.14M investment, designed to strengthen local industrial supply chains, reduce foreign exchange outflows, and support Nigeria’s clean energy ambitions. What Sets Us Apart 1. Clean Cooking Ethanol: Asanita's facility is being developed to produce ethanol to support Nigeria’s transition to clean cooking solutions, providing a sustainable alternative to traditional fuels such as kerosene and firewood. 2. Extra Neutral Alcohol (ENA) Production: The facility will also produce pharmaceutical- and cosmetics-grade ethanol, serving high-value industrial markets such as pharmaceuticals, personal care, and sanitizing products. 3. Multi-Feedstock Capability: The plant is being designed to process multiple agricultural feedstocks, ensuring operational flexibility and supply chain resilience throughout the year. 4. Sustainable Feedstock Development: Through grant support from IDH-PIND, Asanita has begun the cultivation of 2,500 hectares of cassava through a youth outgrower program empowering 2,500 farmers, establishing a sustainable agricultural supply chain to support feedstock demand for the bioethanol plant. 5. Low-Carbon Energy Integration: The project also includes plans for a 2.2MW biomass power plant powered by agricultural residues and biogas from the ethanol production process to support low-carbon operations.
