About Asosiasi Purse Seine Indonesia

APSI (Association of Purse Seine Industry) established to bridge the gap between stakeholders in the purse seine fishery industry and the government, fostering essential dialogue to harmonize interests, support fishermen, and advocate for practical implementation strategies. As an organization, we aim to empower stakeholders in adopting best practices while ensuring compliance with regulations, contributing to a sustainable and responsible purse seine fishery in Indonesia. We serve as a platform for discussions among our members, enabling them to provide collective feedback to the government. In doing so, we advocate for policy refinements that benefit all stakeholders and help mitigate operational disruptions. Our approach ensures that the voices of industry players are heard and that the policies introduced are effective and reflective of the industry's needs. At APSI, we are deeply committed to supporting our members by promoting adherence to reporting obligations and improving data accuracy. To strengthen our fishery's operations, we have integrated the deployment of observers as part of our Fishery Improvement Project (FIP) efforts. This initiative is designed to ensure transparency, enhance data collection, and monitor fishing activities, ultimately improving the overall sustainability of the industry. Additionally, APSI supports its members by organizing training initiatives to improve the skills and qualifications of fishermen. We offer programs such as BST-F and SKN training to equip them with the necessary credentials to enhance their career prospects and operational efficiency.
