About Association for Chaplaincy and Spiritual Life in Higher Education

We are delighted to welcome you to the home of the Association for Chaplaincy and Spiritual Life in Higher Education (ACSLHE, acronym pronounced “axle”)! It has merged from two fine organizations (ACURA and NACUC) with long and treasured histories of supporting the work of spiritual life in institutions of higher education. The basis of ACSLHE is friendship, collegial relationship, co-laboring and learning from each other. We are an intentionally interreligious community committed to movements of justice and inclusion. Our hope is that ACSLHE will be a haven of support and a beacon of advocacy for our professions. Our intention is to advance chaplaincy and spiritual life work in institutions of higher education, to develop and support those who engage the work, and to be a unified voice in the face of challenges.
