About Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial Foundation
The Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial Foundation (ABMF) is a NY-based non-profit organization committed to safeguarding the memory of Auschwitz-Birkenau through the preservation of its original artifacts and Holocaust education rooted in truth, empathy, and critical thinking brought to every American classroom. - We work closely with survivors to support their legacy and connect them with educators and students. - We are proud to support the ongoing preservation and conservation efforts at the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum in Poland—ensuring that the world’s most powerful site of Holocaust remembrance remains intact for future generations. Our work includes direct financial support for the Auschwitz-Birkenau Foundation’s Perpetual Endowment Fund and fundraising for new preservation and educational initiatives developed in partnership with the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum. - We empower American educators to teach the hard history of Auschwitz-Birkenau. Our signature educational program, the Auschwitz Legacy Fellowship, is designed to equip American high school teachers with the tools, knowledge, and empathy to teach the history and lessons of Auschwitz. Each year, selected U.S.-based educators participate in a fully funded study trip to Poland, including a multi-day visit to Warsaw, Krakow, and the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum — a life-changing experience that enriches their classrooms and communities.
