English pronunciation and effective communication skills training provided by Australian Accent and Pronunciation, address the significant challenges non-native English speakers face in mastering English pronunciation and workplace language skills. Pronunciation is notoriously difficult to self-teach due to English's 45 distinct speech sounds, which is a large number compared to many other languages. The inconsistency between English spelling and pronunciation, the wide range of vowel sounds, complex consonant clusters, and the critical role of stress and intonation all contribute to these difficulties. Additionally, the variety of regional accents in English further complicates learning. By specialising in these areas, we aim to help learners overcome these obstacles and achieve clear, confident communication in English. We teach our clients how to accurately pronounce and hear the correct voiced and unvoiced sounds that native English speakers use for clear speech. The development of these skills is critical as many of these sounds may not exist in the learner’s native language. These may include the 'TH', 'L', 'R', 'V' and 'W' sounds. In addition to teaching pronunciation and developing effective listening skills, we develop our client’s communication skills by teaching our clients to use appropriate speed of speech, tone, voice projection, sentence stress and pausing. These are crucial for the reduction of accents and the development of natural-sounding English speech. By working one-on-one, we can provide immediate feedback so that my clients can recognise their pronunciation errors and know how to correct them.
