About Autonomy Health Initiative

Autonomy Health Initiative is a youth- and women-led non-governmental organization based in Wakiso District, Uganda, with operations across the country. We exist to create a safe, inclusive space where young people and women are supported to live healthy, empowered, and dignified lives. Through community-driven, rights-based programs, we address systemic inequalities in health, gender justice, sustainable livelihoods, WASH, and nutrition. Our holistic approach is rooted in equity, empowerment, and collective action — working hand in hand with communities to spark lasting change from the ground up. At the heart of our mission is the belief that true autonomy comes from informed choices and the power to shape one’s own future.
