About Avon and Somerset Police

Our mission at Avon and Somerset Police is to serve, protect and respect our communities. We do this with the vision to deliver outstanding policing for everyone. Our people are caring, courageous, inclusive and are always seeking to learn and improve our services. These are the qualities we value most in our current employees and those we want to attract. We have more than 6,000 people in our organisation. As the seventh largest police force in England and Wales, we serve a population of more than 1.65 million, across a large and diverse area. And, while we have more than 3,000 police officers, PCSOs and special constables, you might be surprised to know they make up around half of our workforce. Thinking of working for us? We offer unique careers where you will be valued, inspired and feel rewarded. From accountants to police officers and from investigators to web developers, we have a wide range of roles where you can make a difference. We are also very proud to be an ENEI (Employers Network for Equality and Inclusion) award-winner, Stonewall accredited, and a Disability Confident employer with a National Equality Standard. While our HQ is in Portishead, we have stations and offices right across our beautiful force area in South Gloucestershire, Somerset and BaNES, including our cities of Bristol, Bath and Wells, as well as many flexible working options.
