About Ballet Review – The Premier Dance Journal
Ballet Review was an international print publication which covered all aspects of dance. It has ceased publication. Ballet Review was founded in 1965 by Arlene Croce, along with associates David Vaughan and Robert Cornfield, who served as the magazine's second editor. In 1970 the Dance Research Foundation, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, was founded to publish Ballet Review and to engage in research related to dance and the other arts. Francis Mason, co-author of Balanchine’s Complete Stories of the Great Ballets and author of I Remember Balanchine, served as editor from 1980 until his death in 2009. Ballet Review was edited (and designed) from 2009 to 2020 by Marvin Hoshino.
