About Bangladesh International Mediation Society

Welcome to the dynamic world of the Bangladesh International Mediation Society (BIMS), a groundbreaking institution reshaping the landscape of conflict resolution in Bangladesh since its founding in 2017. As the inaugural international mediation institute in the country, BIMS stands as a beacon of peace, transcending boundaries and championing the transformative power of mediation. The roots of BIMS trace back to the establishment of the "Mediation Society" in 1974, a pivotal chapter that laid the groundwork for the society's global influence. Guided by a vision to promote understanding and harmony, BIMS adopts a multifaceted approach, encompassing humanitarian initiatives, professional skill enhancement, and the advancement of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) practices. The society's commitment to fostering peace extends globally, contributing to a larger conversation on mediation's pivotal role in constructing resilient and harmonious societies. The introduction of mediation rules in July 2017, along with the establishment of the Mediators' Code of Conduct, underscores BIMS's steadfast dedication to upholding the highest ethical standards in its mediation practices. This introduction invites you to explore the intricate tapestry of BIMS's history, objectives, and global contributions.
