About Barefoot College Guatemala

Barefoot College Guatemala is an independent social entity dedicated to providing access to education and training opportunities for women and girls from the most vulnerable and marginalized rural communities in Guatemala and Latin America. By equipping them with skills and knowledge, we empower them to become catalysts for change, benefiting themselves, their families, and their communities. We believe deeply that empowering rural women is one of the clearest pathways to ensuring long-term social, climate, and gender justice and resilience in rural areas. Through tailored programs, we focus on sustainable education, practical training, and innovative solutions that create lasting impact. Our initiatives inspire self-reliance and leadership, recognizing women as essential drivers of transformation in their communities. By bridging knowledge gaps and creating opportunities, we empower rural women to address pressing challenges such as poverty, inequality, and climate change. Join us in building a brighter future for rural women and communities, where education is the cornerstone of progress and resilience.
