About Behrman House

Behrman House is the leading publisher of materials for Jewish schools throughout North America, as well as titles for individuals and families seeking to learn more about Hebrew, Jewish history, holidays, values, culture, and religious practices. Through our Apples & Honey Press imprint we create picture books and chapter books for children that focus on Jewish life, culture, and values. Founded in 1921, the company has a long and rich history of developing innovative and engaging educational content. It has published such notable authors as Abba Eban, Eugene Borowitz, Mordecai Kaplan, Milton Steinberg, Brad Artson, and David Wolpe. The firm’s curricular materials can be found in almost every Reform, Conservative, and Reconstructionist congregation in North America, and in Jewish communities around the world.
