About Being and Becoming: A Community for the Curious

Being and Becoming is a Toronto-based non-profit dedicated to helping people engage with life’s big questions. We neither dictate these questions nor purport to answer them: instead, we aim to provide people – philosophers and non-philosophers alike – with the opportunities to develop the conceptual tools and imagination to explore their own questions themselves. We believe this journey of discovery is richer, more stimulating, and simply more fun when undertaken alongside peers in a community that explores and respects a diversity of views. Key to our initiative, then, is the fostering of local and national communities dedicated to the common – but often complicated and messy – pursuit of life’s big questions. By offering activities, spaces, and other opportunities for conversation and co-exploration, we hope to enable the meetings/fusion of individuals and their ideas.
