Belgian Emergency Ultrasound Society jobs and careers
About Belgian Emergency Ultrasound Society
BEUS is the official authority overseeing the quality, assessment, and advancement of point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) in emergency medicine across Belgium. As a nationally recognized body, BEUS sets the standards for POCUS competence and plays a central role in ensuring that all emergency physicians in training meet the required level of ultrasound proficiency before graduation. Our mission is to define, uphold, and evaluate high standards in clinical ultrasound, ensuring it is used effectively, safely, and in line with the evolving needs of emergency care. BEUS organizes certification exams that are mandatory for residents in emergency medicine, making us a key actor in the academic validation of POCUS skills. In addition to assessment, we collaborate with universities, hospitals, and training centers to support the development of structured, evidence-based education in POCUS. Through academic partnerships and national coordination, we help drive clinical excellence, research, and the responsible integration of ultrasound into emergency care. Follow us for updates on certification standards, academic activities, national developments in POCUS, and upcoming opportunities in the Belgian emergency ultrasound landscape.
