About Belgian Society for Integrative Oncology (BelSIO)

BelSIO is a multidisciplinary non-profit organization promoting the successful combination of conventional medicine with complementary therapies (e.g. mind-body practices, natural products) and lifestyle interventions (e.g. exercise, managing sleep disturbances) to enhance outcomes and well-being of cancer patients. Globally, this patient-centered, evidence-informed approach is gaining recognition. Yet in Belgium, integrative oncology remains fragmented, with limited collaboration between professionals. BelSIO was created to serve as an ambassador for this approach in Belgium. We aim to connect professionals across disciplines — from oncologists and nurses to psychologists, physiotherapists, nutritionists, and complementary care providers — through a platform for collaboration, education, and research.”
