About Bensari Workshop

Bensari Workshop is a professional woodworking studio and educational space based in Wrocław, Poland. It was founded by Tom Bensari, a master woodworker, furniture designer, and educator whose practice bridges traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design. Bensari Workshop was created as a place of real making. It is not a classroom detached from practice, but a working studio where furniture is designed and built, and where the same techniques are taught that are used daily at the workbench. Education here is rooted in direct experience, material understanding, and structural logic. The workshop focuses on traditional hand-tool woodworking as a conscious, contemporary choice. Participants learn joinery, surface preparation, and construction methods based on proven principles rather than shortcuts or simplified demonstrations. Emphasis is placed on responsibility for the entire process, from material selection to final finish. Alongside its educational activity, the studio operates within the broader context of collectible furniture design. The objects created here are produced in small scale, with attention to durability, proportion, and long-term value. This dual role, studio and school, allows knowledge to remain practical, current, and grounded in real work. Bensari Workshop attracts people seeking a meaningful relationship with craft. Some arrive at the beginning of their woodworking journey, others during a professional transition, looking for skills that offer clarity, focus, and tangible results. The workshop provides a space where learning is slow, deliberate, and built on respect for material, time, and process. At its core, Bensari Workshop represents a belief that craftsmanship is not a relic of the past, but a viable and relevant way of working today.
