A Brief history of BeRead: BeRead was founded in 2025 by Merle Bennett and Fergus Edmondson, two senior publishing strategists who spent decades shaping globally recognised authors, books, and brands inside Big Five publishers. With that industry experience we recognised a gap in the market. Authors navigating independent routes were often left overwhelmed, under-served or stuck with one-size-fits-all solutions. We asked a simple question: What if there was a smarter, more agile, more empowering way to publish?
