Beyond a Curved Spine (BACS) is a leading nonprofit dedicated to scoliosis awareness, advocacy, and support across Nigeria. Since inception, we’ve shifted national awareness from an estimated 1 in 10,000 people to 1 in 50, mobilising conversations, care, and action around spinal health. Through strategic partnerships and compassionate outreach, we have: • Facilitated 30+ discounted surgeries for individuals in need • Enabled 150+ pro bono consultations with expert spine specialists • Provided psychosocial counselling and support to hundreds • Founded Nigeria’s first-ever Scoliosis Surgery Week, a historic milestone in local spine care • Run a WhatsApp support group of over 270+ members, offering daily peer support and community for scoliosis warriors (aka ScoliWarriors) across the country At BACS, we are committed to ensuring that no ScoliWarrior walks alone, and that everyone living with scoliosis has access to the dignity, care, and support they deserve.
